March Bulletin Board Ideas
Layout and design tips for March bulletin board ideas.
St Patrick’s day
St Patrick’s day, celebrated on 17 March, is one of the most obvious March bulletin board ideas. Display articles and photographs on outlines of four-leaf clovers and add leprechauns and gold plastic coins. Make a border out of green clover leaf cutouts.
Find shamrock coasters and stick them on the board or use them to create a border. Decorations can be made from St Patrick’s day stickers and other themed items that can be bought at novelty shops.
Print Irish icons on tags as illustrated in these examples. Hang the tags from the bottom border. Get staff to submit photographs of workplace events during the month. Place notices in blocks or sections on green backgrounds.
Use a simple scalloped edge made from green card onto which you can place cut out letters to make up the words St Patrick’s day. Place it at the bottom of the green and white striped backing. Add a large clover leaf which could contain a section of notices. You could also cut slots into the stripes on the cardboard background and slot images or notices into them.

Make posters and notices that include the important benefits of recycling such as the number of trees that will be saved and the reduction in the cost of energy required to manufacture new paper. Also explain how electricity and coal based emissions are reduced by not having to manufacture as much paper.
Give information on the amount of waste that ends up in landfills and how recycling saves on the cost of transport and labour of getting the paper to landfill sites. The large ‘operation recycle’ wording is placed inside shapes made out of two similar shaped cutouts in different colours. The one shape is stuck on top of the other in a slightly different position to allow the bottom cutout to create a shadow effect. The border has a refuse truck dumping waste into a landfill which forms part of the border. Refuse items such as crisp packets can be attached to the board as though they are coming out of the truck for a 3D effect.
Attach paper to the board in angular speech bubble shapes where staff can write their ‘going green’ suggestions. The red crosses highlight the basic points of ‘going green’.
