Job Openings in my Area - How to Find Them

One of the best ways to find job openings in your area is to increase you networking, this means contacting old co-workers or friends in the field you wish to work in and have them contact people they know.

Often it is via word of mouth that you land a job, and often these jobs are never advertised, so your competition is much less. Therefore, building a good networking system is vital because it can often land you positions when you are not even looking for a new job.

Other ways to find openings in my area are checking out some of the top job websites and register and then begin searching for various positions in your areas and within your career area. Make sure you have your resume up to speed, in other words, you do not want to send an ineffective resume, you should have a resume that is actually communicating your skills and what you have done in order to show what you are capable of doing in a new position. In addition, if you have not interviewed in a number of years, be sure to practice some interviewing sessions with a loved one or friend as this can better your chances when you are well-prepared for the interview.
