February bulletin boards
Ideas for February bulletin boards:
1. Valentine’s day
Friendship messages can be used for a Valentine’s day theme on
14 February for February bulletin boards. Use valentine imagery to promote partnerships and team building in a spirit of fun instead of the romantic focus of traditional Valentine’s day celebrations. Promote building relationships that will have a positive impact on coworkers.
Peg heart shapes onto string and tie it midway across the board.
A simple mountain-shaped background can be cut from card. Place hearts with messages on that hang off of the bottom border. Notices can be placed in the section to the right of the board. This would form a section on a larger board.
Cut two lines in the paper, as per the template, into which heart shapes can be placed. A leaflet can be folded in half and tucked into the slots. The heart shapes can be replaced with other images as the theme changes.
2. Peer nominations for awards
Peer employee recognition programmes allow staff to nominate colleagues they feel are worthy of an award. The ‘reach for the stars’ staff nomination campaign encourages staff to join the stars by excelling and being the best of the best.
Use the bulletin board to emphasise what makes the difference between an average performer and a star performer and encourage staff to start developing those skills. Include competition details such as nomination deadlines and selection criteria for nominations.
This campaign has three categories:
- Responsibility - for an individual who has a good work ethic, takes ownership of their actions and seeks out new opportunities and positive solutions.
- Professionalism - for a person who is reliable, conscientious and applies their skills, knowledge and experience to achieve outstanding results.
- Beyond excellence - for an employee who performs their job with excellence and strives to do more than what is expected of them.
This large star shape contains nomination rules and guidelines. Different shaped stars containing information on each finalist hang from the board. These can be attached with drawing pins. The large star could be made out of wire and have the wording printed on card within the frame. The board is divided into three tiered sections. A large die-cut star can be placed above the desk of each staff member who has been nominated. The small stars have the word ‘nominee’ printed on them.
