Electricity was discovered by Benjamin Franklin. Electricity is an integral part of our lives at home and in the workplace. Benjamin Franklin played an important role in electricity.
All your life you have been hearing about electricity, butdid you ever wonder where it came from? Well in all actuality it was found and experimented with thousands of years ago, but our history says that it has only been recently that the full potential of electricity has been unleashed.
Ever wondered who invented electricity and how is electricity made.
It started with Benjamin Franklin in 1746. He had pursued many subjects in his life, but when he saw some electrical experiments being conducted, his life – and ours - was changed forever.

From this point on, one would suppose that we could call it ‘Benjamin Franklin electricity’ or ‘Ben Franklin electricity’, because it was Franklin who discovered that electricity was not actually a result of friction.
It was also Franklin who created the theory of positive and negative electricity. Soon enough, Franklin would perform is famous kite experiment where he would charge a Leyden jar at the end of the string using a key.

He performed many more experiments, some of which might be more appropriately considered pranks. One experiment that he did involved lightning rods and bells attached to his house. Some of these experiments led to our current knowledge of electricity. Without Benjamin Franklin electricity would not be understood as well as it is today.
Benjamin Franklin stands tall among many other inventors such as Thomas Edison. Mr Franklin was also one of the founding fathers and signed the Declaration of Independence in 177
6. He has taken his part in shaping out future, and there are many electrical appliances these days that are named after him and his accomplishments. You may end up buying an electric or gas heater with his name on it, and this is without a doubt one of many times you will be hearing about him.
Nowadays we need to be aware of how can we save electricity as the resources used to produce it become depleted.
Energy saving posters are important reminders or prompts to encourage people how to save energy at home and in the office.
